FROM SHELL TO SEA
Our little friends have now hatched and begun their journey to the ocean. This is usually an extremely hazardous endeavor, but not for these little fellas. Under the safe conditions provided by our partner Gate 2 Nature, the baby sea turtles have been provided safe passage from predators, poachers, and pollution of the nesting sites.
Your baby sea turtle had a good start to life. But being a small turtle in the big ocean isn’t all jolly and jelly fish…

SEA TURTLES
Pack Tech is aware of the many threats facing sea turtles in Indonesia. They are poached for food, drown when fished out of the water, and habitats are destroyed by developers and climate change. Many sea turtles, unfortunately, also feed on plastic waste instead of jellyfish, causing them to choke and die. Sea turtles are on the brink of extinction. In many cultures, they are seen as a delicacy and are pursued for their eggs, meat, and shells. Their habitat is under constant threat from both climate change and human activity. Climate change is causing sea levels to rise and increasing the number and intensity of storms. This activity along with the constant development along coastlines, damages and destroys nesting beaches and makes it impossible for female turtles to lay eggs.
OUR PARTNER
We are committed to helping baby sea turtles survive. Collaborating with the organization, Gate to Nature, we have adopted 2 nests which include 100 eggs each. From our 200 eggs, your baby sea turtle will hatch in a safe and protected environment. When the baby sea turtles have hatched, you will be able to follow their journey into the ocean. Gate to Nature works with the Turtle Conservation and Education Center in Bali, to improve conditions for sea turtles. Together they secure the eggs, which are at risk of being damaged, stolen, or have little hope of survival. By collecting the eggs, they help them hatch under protected conditions. They also run a rehabilitation center for injured sea turtles.
